What’s JaMarcus Russell’s fantasy football draft value in 2-QB leagues?

We’re about a week and a half away from the Super Bowl being played, which means we have about a week and a half to figure out which Harbaugh coach we want to root against winning a Super Bowl.

If we had to lay odds the favorite to root against as of right now would be San Francisco 49er head coach Jim Harbaugh. Why? Look at this .GIF from Deadspin to see his freak out over a lost challenge:

Now, imagine what his reaction would be if he lost the Super Bowl to his brother? A freak out of that magnitude would alone make the Super Bowl worth watching for any non-Raven/49er fans.

Between now and Super Bowl Sunday we’ll be inundated with a number of football storylines that we’ll forget the moment the Lombardi trophy is awarded, one of which is the desired comeback of former first round draft pick/biggest bust in the history of the NFL JaMarcus Russell.

I’m #1, right?

NFL.com has the story on the 27-year-old’s NFL comeback dream, if you’re looking for the details. All I know is that we all have a dram, right? If JaMarcus can dream about playing in the NFL again who are we to tear his dream apart?

I know I’m not going to take on that burden. Instead I’ve decided to rank his value in 2-QB leagues based on the current NFL depth charts from the awesome Football Guys. Of course things will change between now and the Week 1 kick-off to the 2013-14 NFL regular season, which means expect lots of change at the QB position that will occur either through free agency or the draft.

Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders all have a level of uncertainty at their QB position.

Veteran names like Matt Flynn and Alex Smith, and incoming rookies like Zac Dysert, Mike Glennon, Tyler Wilson and Ryan Nassib will have an impact on the above rankings, depending on where they sign with or which team they get drafted by.

The only constant that will occur once those changes happen is that JaMarcus Russell’s value won’t change and he should be the last QB on your draft board. Plan your 2-QB fantasy football draft accordingly!

That guy’s meltdown is absolutely hilarious!!!! Is it bad that I want the other guys to win just so that I can see his reaction?

  2. I think that’s a perfectly justifiable reason to see somebody lose.
